Organization right from its inception has focused on advanced and alternative farming practices to improve the livelihood condition of farmers It has adopted the policy of inclusive growth by encouraging women groups and also small and marginal farmers The key focus areas have remained as follows Advanced and Alternative Agriculture promotion Land and Water Management and development Capacity Building Market research and market linkages. Value edition of agriculture products AWAM has long term association with NABARD for implementing various projects He organization is working in two states Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh At present AWAM is implementing three watershed projects in Dahod and Chhotaudepur districts under Indo German Watershed Development Project in Gujarat. Apart from it AWAM is also implementing three WADI project in Pavijetpur block of Chhotaudepur district in which it has covering more than 3000 tribal farmers of the district. Accompanied by watershed and wadi development activities we are also promoting organic farming in this area of Gujarat In Bhabhara block of Alirajpur AWAM is implementing the NISARG WADI project in which we have established 1000 acres fruit orchard land and covered 1000 family AWAM has also worked with Gujarat government water supply department (GWSSB) to provide drinking water facilities in schools and village habitat Under this programme we have covered more than 100 schools and 35 villages under house connectivity AWAM is implementing 54 drinking water schemes in 34 villages of Dahod district which will be going to cover more than 1300 household with the financial assistance of Tribal Sub Plan Dahod Besides it AWAM has established four farmers producer organization with the support of NABARD by providing required assistance and resources like input, technical knowledge, financial resources and infrastructure in Pavi Jetpur block of Chhoaudepur district. The purpose of establishing FPOs is to enhance productivity and realize higher return for their produce through collective action and to support tribal farmers linked them directly with market so that farmers get good price for their produce. AWAM through its managerial support prepared farmers for running and governing these FPOs in future AWAM has recently take responsibility of construction and maintenance of eight vegetable collection centers in Chhotaudepur district under Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana announced by Tribal development department Gujarat. AWAM has successfully scaled up its activities in natural resource sector with a clear vision and planning. Sustainability of the organization is highly dependent on its vision and growth plan. AWAM being established with a purpose and communities have given much great response to its initiatives with huge amount of peoples contribution it is sure that the activities and organization are moving towards greater sustainability.
