The commonwealth human rights initiative (chri) is an independent, non-partisan, international non-governmental organization head quartered in new delhi india. It mandated to ensure the practical realisation of human rights across the commonwealth. Chri’s overall objective is to achieve the practical realization of human rights in the lives of ordinary people across the commonwealth. To this end it promotes awareness of and adherence to the Harare commonwealth declaration, the universal declaration of human rights, and other internationally recognised human rights instruments, as well as in – country laws and policies
