These technologies must increase rural self reliance; improve energy use efficiency; avoid environmental degradation and reduce economic disparities. To carry out field testing and demonstration of new technologies developed; to disseminate new technologies through the existing educational infrastructure in villages; to develop alternative educational systems; to impart training to rural youth in appropriate technologies; publication of books, monographs and newsletters related to these technologies, especially in kannada and possibly in other regional languages
