Social welfare The aims and objectives of Kumaun Sewa Samiti is to end all forms of violence and exploitation of women and other marginalized sections in the society and work for their educational, social and economic empowerment through consistent micro level interventions with partnership and collaboration of the stakeholders. Since the inception of the organization, it is working with most marginalized communities like the Tharu tribals living in scattered settlements along the Indo-Nepal borders. Our interventions are basically reclamation of their land rights, engaging women in economic activities through skill development and training in a host of rural and household industries and building a right based approach to development and change. Empowering women through education, orienting and sensitising them towards the multitude of violence and exploitation meted out to them by men within the families and communities as a whole is the bedrock of Kumaun Sewa Samiti and so far the organization had made perceptible changes in the lives of poor women by its micro level initiatives
