Resource center for people with special needs The Foundation, based in Dehradun, works with children and adults with disability. As a resource centre for people with special needs, providing early intervention, education, training and awareness, we work to empower the most vulnerable to re-create the world so that they are a vital part of it. We challenge injustice and demonstrate what inclusion means. Our activities include education, therapy, training, play and awareness-raising. The foundation?s early intervention centre assesses children for disability and creates physical and speech therapy plans to help the child prepare for mainstream school. The karuna vihar school creates individual programs to help children with disability learn important socialization skills as well as language and math competence. The college for vocational training prepares and grooms young adults with special needs for an independent lifestyle
