SIAAP works in the field of HIV/AIDS/STDs with women as the main target. It also pioneered interventions that integrated human rights advocacy with gender and sexuality issues. These were primarily with individuals or groups of people discriminated due to sexual orientations and behaviours such as women in prostitution, long distance transport workers and people with HIV. It also assists various NGO with training, supervision, networking, advocacy and financial support to integrate these interventions with existing programs
